A view of Edinburgh

Took a ‘wander’ up Arthur’s seat in Edinburgh the other day.  Clear skies and a sunshine gave great views to every corner of the city.  This one is towards the castle, looking over the top of Salisbury crags.  Arthur’s Seat is what remains of the main vent of an enormous volcano that once covered the area where Edinburgh now stands.  All the hills around the city formed a part of this giant which was reckoned to be the height of Mount Everest…..until the ice age came along that is!
